SSP vs River Falls

For the first time this season the weather cooperated and it was actually comfortable for us Parents to cheer on our Packers.

We were pretty evenly matched last night with the team from River Falls who came to town to take us on.  The game ended in a 3-3 tie after goals by Ella, Maddie, and Gabs.  Goaltending was provided by Kayla in the first half and Abby in the second.

Up next for the girls is the always fun Bloomington tournament tomorrow and Saturday.

3 and 0

Under the watchful eye of Head Coach Randy, the Packers recorded the third shutout of the year tonight in their third game against the St Paul Blackhawks.  Great goaltending was provided by Kayla in the first half of the game and by Ella in the second.  Two goals were scored by Gabs and one by Careline.

This Packer team is for real.  They are playing well together, talking to one another on the field, giving and anticipating passes, and are just playing heads up soccer.  They are quite fun to watch (even in 52 degree damp windy weather) !

Second Game Second Shutout!

Our SSP Packers have sure been treating us fans to some mighty fine play to begin the 2014 season and for the second game in a row recorded a shutout.  Tonight it was Cottage Grove who the girls took down by the score of 4-0.

Scoring for the Packers on this chilly May evening (will it ever warm up???) was Gabs (2), Emma C, and Maddie.  Solid goaltending was provided by Abby and Kayla.

Off To A Great Start

The Packers got the 2014 Summer season off to a great start by defeating the Hastings Raiders by the score of 3 to nothing.  The girls really played well as a team tonight and seemed more aware than ever before of each others presence on the field.  There were some really outstanding passes made and some terrific teamwork.  Packers fans are in for an awesome season ahead!

Tonight's goals were scored by Gabs, Ella, and Kayla.  Shutout worthy goaltending was provided by Kayla in the first half of the game and Abby in the second.
